OVERNIGHT CAMP FAQ’S

When is the balance of payment due?

The final payment is due no later than 15 days prior to your camp date.
Payments are accepted online at www.americheer.com or if paying by check, make checks
payable to:

Additional forms of accepted payment: credit card and school purchase order. Please include all
AmeriCheer CAP rewards codes (located at www.americheer.com) when submitting the final
payment if not done previously with registration and deposit. In order to receive the CAP
rewards, you must provide the CAP rewards codes with registration or payment.


What is the cancellation/refund policy for teams?

For a full refund, less the non-refundable/non-transferable deposit of $50 per participant, notice
of cancellation must be made in writing and received in the AmeriCheer Corporate office no
later than 30 days prior to your camp date. No refunds will be given after this deadline for the
following: no-shows and camps interrupted due to injury, illness or disciplinary reasons.
Participants and coaches/advisors who join camp late or leave early will not receive partial
refunds. Notice may be mailed, faxed or emailed to rdavis@americheer.com and must be
confirmed by AmeriCheer. No phone cancellations will be accepted. Approved refunds will be
processed after September 15, 2017.

How are participant number decreases/increases handled?

Due to contractual obligations with the host college/university, any increase in the number of
participants attending will be accepted up to 15 days prior to camp dates. Any increase in the
number of participants inside 15 days will be accepted based upon availability of space and may
incur a $50 per additional participant processing/change fee. Any decrease in the number of
participants outside of 15 days will result in the forfeit of the $50 per participant non-refundable,
non-transferable deposit. Any decrease in the number of participants inside of 15 days will result
in the forfeit of the $50 per participant non-refundable, non-transferable deposit and an
additional $50 per participant processing/change fee.

What is the arrival/check-in process?

Camp check-in will be conducted 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. All participants (including resident &
commuting) should arrive between these times unless otherwise noted. Please refer to the
Camp Location Fact Sheet (located in your confirmation packet) for exact location of where to
check-in once you arrive on campus. Only coaches/advisors will be permitted to check-in. Upon
check-in, coaches/advisors should inform the AmeriCheer Camp Manager/Trainer of any
special medical needs of any participants.

Upon arrival, what items are needed for check-in?

In order to expedite the check-in process, please have the following items prepared upon
arrival:

  • AmeriCheer Medical Release and Consent Forms – one for every participant (including coach alphabetized, grouped and paper-clipped according to team.
  • Participant Housing Form (if applicable)
  • Team Profile Form – one for each attending team.
  • Payment for Parking charges indicated on the Camp Location Fact Sheet

Are medical waivers and consent forms needed to participate?

Yes! Medical Waiver and Consent Forms must be distributed to all attending participants
including coaches/advisors. All participants must have a completed form in order to participate
in any camp activities. A parent or guardian must sign the form for any participants under 18
(eighteen) years of age.

When will meal service begin at camp?

Meal service will begin with dinner on the first evening. Meal service for commuting participants
and commuting coaches/advisors will include lunch and dinner only. See the camp schedule in
your confirmation packet for exact number of provided meals. Any special requests regarding
meal/diet restrictions should be notified to AmeriCheer no later than 15 days prior to your camp
date. Note that on the first day of camp, lunch is not provided. Please make sure you have
planned accordingly and all participants have eaten before the camp’s opening session.

What is the Home Dance Evaluation and how is it implemented?

AmeriCheer will offer an optional Home Dance Routine Evaluation to be conducted on the first
evening of camp. Each team participating will receive a written evaluation on their given
performance at the conclusion of the evaluation process. Then, on the final day of camp and
during the Final Evaluation Showcase, all teams participating in the Home Dance Routine
Evaluation will repeat their performance for potential placements of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Note:
Some larger camps will offer awards by divisions/squad type.

Will AmeriCheer adhere to the Music Educational Initiative for the Home Dance
Routine Evaluation and Showcase at camps?

USA Cheer has released their Music Copyrights Educational Initiative and our Family of
Brands as members of the cheer and dance industry, have committed to sharing the information
and adhering to these guidelines at all of our cheer and dance camps and. Please take a
moment to read our music policy below. For more detailed information on how to make sure you
are “music compliant” at camp visit www.usacheer.net.

AmeriCheer, AmeriDance & Eastern Cheer and Dance will be adhering to all copyright laws
and guidelines related to the music industry. By attending a 2017 AmeriCheer Overnight
Camp, you will be acknowledging that your organization is in compliance with all copyright
laws and guidelines related to the music industry. By acknowledging your compliance, you
may or may not be asked to provide documented proof. If such documented proof cannot
be supplied upon request, your organization may forfeit any Home Dance Routine
Showcase Awards both during camp and /or after camp. Should you have questions about
this policy or for more information please call our offices.

What are the Home Dance Evaluation performance guidelines?

  • Routines are limited to no more than 1:15.
  • All music must be copy write compliant. (See above)
  • No cheers or chants are permitted prior, during or after the dance routine.
  • Tumbling (excluding rolls), stunts, basket tosses or pyramids are not permitted.
  • Routines should reflect exceptional execution, great timing/synchronization, creativity, visuals, level changes and quick/smooth transitions.
  • Routines must be suitable for family viewing. No inappropriate clothing, moves, music or lyrics (spoken or implied) are permitted.

What items/supplies/props are needed for Daily and Final Evaluations?

Please bring all signs, poms, megaphones, etc. to camp for there will be a time when teams are
asked to incorporate these crowd-leading Spirit Toolkit items as a part of the crowd leading
process and Crowd Crazies evaluation. Additionally, AmeriCheer asks that you bring several
clean pieces of blank poster board and colored markers that might potentially be needed to
make additional Crowd Leading signs for this process as well.

What is Excite Night?

As a fun activity, AmeriCheer will conduct Excite Night activities on the final evening (before the
last day) to include a Lip-Sync Contest and a Talent Contest. Winners will be awarded for best
lip-sync performance(s) and talent performance(s) on the final day at the Final Awards
Ceremony.

What are the Lip-Sync Contest performance guidelines?

  • Lip-Sync is not to exceed 1:15 in total length.
  • All material/choreography must be appropriate and suitable for family viewing.
  • No inappropriate clothing, moves, music or lyrics (spoken or implied) are permitted.
  • Costumes and/or props may be worn/used provided they adhere to the above guidelines.

Note: Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in music being stopped
immediately at the discretion of the Head Instructor/Camp Manager.

What are the Talent Contest performance guidelines?

  • Each performance is not to exceed 1:15 in total length.
  • All material/choreography must be appropriate and suitable for family viewing.
  • No inappropriate clothing, moves, music or lyrics (spoken or implied) are permitted.
  • Costumes and/or props may be worn/used provided they adhere to the above guidelines.

Note: Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result the performance being stopped
immediately at the discretion of the Head Instructor/Camp Manager.

Hint: Talent performances should consist of genuine/true talent by an individual, team or
group of team members. Examples of such would be, singing, solos, duos, dancing,
playing a musical instrument, etc.
